Ordered a set of Sato Street Hooks for the bike, so that I can hang the remote preload adjuster to it easily. Also give me somewhere to anchor the bike from if ever travelling.
With the impending 2 days of heatwave we will get this year decided to do the 'fan mod'. See here for details Custom Fan switch for 08+ CBR1000 : Honda CBR 1000RR Motorcycle Forums: 1000RR.net. Took all of 10 mins to complete. I do a load of commuting in the city. When it gets a little hot and sticky and traffic a little sh1t the temps hit 108C. I know this is fine but would rather the bike ran in the 90s. As per link fitted a DPDT switch to allow manual switching of either the right fan or both fans. Tested it today and it works great! Took the bike out for a trashing and then did some slow riding for a while and left to idle a few time and let rise to 103C. The ambient temps were 25C, the fans on constant brought the coolant temps to 96C, maybe could have got it lower but got bore waiting so trashed the motor a little more! - good times!
Right you are! "Officer I wasn't speeding, was just increasing the air flow through my radiator!" My mate got nicked the other day in the city, clear road good conditions and early in the morning. Got 3 points and £100 fine, lucky though as was doing 47 in a 30, only 3 MPH from a court summons!. Not sure why but I'm running slightly warmer than usual, nothing drastic but noticeable, the only change is I know of is oil viscosity from 10w30 to 10w40???
I got the system from Team IWR (Bathams Honda) ex M Rutters bike it was for sale on motoforum, they come up time to time on eBay and motoforum.

. Went shopping in Llandidrod. Whoever painted that biker on the floor was a real artist. Lol. Well, OK, he might not have been a real 'artist' but I bet he was a real biker 'cos he definitely gave it 110%.
