Finally got time to fit my Gilles GT chain adjusters Awesome piece of kit worth every penny And before any of you start on about my bike being dirty ,yes I will clean it when l have a bit of time but I also enjoy riding in all weathers LOL
Just finished work and now I'm going to give my bike a good clean and lots of TLC after yesterdays ride to Minehead.
Racetec's at the ready, plus SBS front pads now on. Just needs a test ride. Here's an idea of the gear i use for my DIY tyre changes. Basic ABBA bead breaker. Tyre bar and home made base to hold the wheel down and walk the bar around the wheel (there is a tub of tyre soap out of shot too). Racetec on and home made balancer.
Checked out new front lines I had made up when they arrived, ordered some pink HRC tubing to use when I fit the lines (need to get calipers and mc first), temp fixed the HRC style lifters to swingarm to see how they looked.
Set up my "rider sag" "Free sag" on my new rear shock today was way to hot to put all my riding gear so weighed myself on the scales in my shorts and tea shirt, and then again in the same but carrying all my riding gear and was amazed that it all weighs 11kg (24ibs) so set up a dumbbell to 11kg and used that with me on the bike, a damn sight cooler than wearing full it was too lol Might let the suspension guy at the next track day have a check on it to, just in case i got it wrong
I tried setting mine up myself then got parkitt racing to check and I was way off lol Setting up suspension is way over my head
yeah I thought the same, so will have a guys look at it at Snetterton on Monday had a fiddle, got the sags to what it says i need in the setup data, but still best to have the experts have a look I guess
Added rear number boards to the track fairing and butchered a pair of baffles for my gutted Honda can. If this doesn't pass the noise test now then nothing will
The odd road trip.... It's still my road bike I'm already riding it like this and is giving me an opportunity to send my damaged panels off for repair without taking the bike off the road. Definitely trailering it though. I'll take the plate off for Snett, but will risk leaving the indicators on as I really can't be bothered to remove the fibreglass tail any more times than I have to
My 16k service is due shortly. Not looking forward to shelling out for it. What did that lot cost you Nath?
road trip . number plate came loose of half way round so put under seat cowling pull by police but let off ,after showing im the plate which it a smaller one
A few improvements from a technical aesthetical and fun perspective Shorties Front discs Scorpion can and link pipe And a PC3 and O2 sensor eliminator (glorified plug with resistor ) to round it all up- smiles all around! Next to come- private plate (5 digits) to keep my plate small-ish while legal....
Finally got round to fitting the rearsets. Had a wee go on them last night and they seem great. A few small tweaks before I blue loctite everything on.
I fitted a MRA black double bubble screen and new seats. I will admit to a gel pad. My ass can't take more than an hour otherwise! The screen does improve the wind at speed, I'm surprised what a difference it makes for 40 quid and I think it looks better that the original screen too. Now will I have to do is to fit the Hell brake lines I have in the garage. image by steveophoto, on Flickr image by steveophoto, on Flickr image by steveophoto, on Flickr
Ordered new rear mastercylinder with integral reservoir and new clevis joint, ordered HEL braided line from BikersDiscount as HEL direct have been a nightmare dealing with so far, wired up rearsets brake light switch finally, took old akra exhaust end can off ready to fit new once I've fitted and bled the rear line and thermo shielded the belly pan to try and protect from Akra Evo headers. Exhaust off Brake light switch wired in
