Carbon.. its like crack... Bought the tank pad and filler infill.. Thought i could handle it... Saw the clock surround and the exhaust shield and had to have them... Thought i had control, i only did it now and again, then the hugger, the chain guard and heal plates, tank panels... Thought the titanium would help take the edge off but its just calling me more and more !!!

Well, what started out to be a winter spruce us has got a bit more serious... So far: De-catted, New Mivv silencers (if you can use that word near them), Pair and flapper valves, KN's. CRG levers, heated grips, HRC QAT. Today postie turned up with: Carbon rear hugger, PZ Racing gear indicator, Gilles Ti axel nut and titanium sprocket nuts and bolts.. Ordered an all black aftermarket fairing but probably gonna run a carbon tail unit and front mud guard.. But most of my afternoon has been taken up trying to get the fiddliest of bastard bolts out from the middle of the hugger Had to get the bike up on a stand i bought second hand last year and its the first time I've used it and it picks it up from swing arm pivots. Good solid bit of kit ! Then I've had to drop the shock and linkages out so i could try and get at it Ended up attacking the old hugger with a Stanley knife to clear some space.. Did the old hammer and centre punch trick and thought i had the bugger moving when it just went too easy and had snapped the head off the bolt... Oh deep joy... For my next trick, tomorrow i will be mainly snapping an easy out off in it... :roll eyes: We'll see what goodies postie bring to try and brighten my day tho.. Gonna seriously toy with the Ohlins idea tonight as my shock is looking shitty and I've got so many nice lil bits going on, i think it'd be rude not to
Mate I feel your pain with that bolt! When I helped martinowen fit his ohlins that was the only bolt that was a fecker to get out and put back, did it in the end with a Allen key bit and an adjustable spanner
Ive spent months having little goes with this and that and this was the last resort... I've Just been on to Kyle Racing and ordered the Ohlins to cheer me up ! Got that kinda excited but cold sick feeling you get when you've sat in front of the lap top with your debit card too much
I blame Tezza as his garage looks spookily like mine at the moment and i was just missing that backend bling
And I'm gonna blame you Daz for the red Samco's i just clicked "Buy it Now", on ! Bastards... wish id never joined this site ! We'll, i imagine the Mrs does anyhow...
I've just bought the Ohlins HO604 shock from Kyle Racing too. Was toying with the idea for ages and eventually thought fuck it, it's a good price and so took the plunge.
I've been told that kyle racing buys Ohlins in such bulk that they are simply able to undercut all the other Ohlins distributors.
I name dropped the forum like a mutha in the hope of scraping another couple of dollars off the deal but he wasn't budging...
Yeah I know what you mean mate. I tried the 'what's your best price' line but no difference. He knows full well he's the cheapest, but worth a try though!
