yeah a fair trip as you say (164 miles), but on the way to see my daughter in Portsmouth, so no real hardship stayed with her for a few days and turned it into a mini break
Fitted a pair of Pirelli Rosso corsa s with a 190 on the back. 200 quid and fitted myself. Took them for a spin yesterday and I like the feel they gave. Gonna try and get out today and push a bit harder.
A couple of bits ... That were time consuming ... New hoses I should have went for the racing two line kit, but never mind ... A bloody good clean Titanium bolts, vortex sprocket and a good clean of the chain Pretty happy with how it's looking ... Rearsets on the way and then will install along with pillion peg removal.
Was up at Knockhill today watching the ACU tests and pre season testing. Picked up a project ive been wanting for a long time, it will end up being a copy of the HRC superbike rear paddock stand as in the pic.
Bikes looking very nice mate, can I ask you why you said you should of went for the racing 2 line kit? The reason I'm asking is I intend to fit new lines on mine and not sure what the racing 2 line kit looks like or is it that they would of been easier to fit.
It would have just looked a little less messy at the caliper that's all. The OE pipe has a joiner that mounts to mudguard and then splits a pipe to each caliper. The HEL hoses run one line straight to the caliper and then a line from the caliper to the other side via a double banjo... The two line kit basically runs two lines straight from the master cylinder to each caliper. However I had a lot of trouble mounting the new line to the master cylinder as so little space to move so mounting two lines with a double banjo would be a nightmare room wise. Saying that bleeding the setup I used was really easy and the lever is rock solid. I might move the HEL labels just to tidy it up ... OCD kicking in again lol HTH
P clips from eBay... 8mm You need to drill mounting hole very slightly but being aluminum its a 2 min job
Fitted the new shock and gave it a clean as its being sitting doing nothing for months, just the fork upgrade and Bazzaz and its finished. Forgot to add that I put the captive wheel spacers in whilst messing on this morning as well
Sorted out the headlight protectors. Have both dark and clear ones and as they arrived with the dual lock already fitted they never lined up properly on the headlight, so it was a case of remove dual lock and put some new on so that it all looks pretty. Also fired up the Mrs' NSR ready for a little bimble in the week
Test fitted the HRC stock spindle and quick release kit. QR is on the wrong side of Swingarm but give an idea how it locks in.
Dropped off my seat with Tophills to get the comfort foam added as well as a recover. Pick it up on Sat so i'll have some picks up then. Also fitted the Ti pinch bolts for the clip ons and the top yoke. Not sure how to get at the bolts off the bottom yoke without the front end fairing coming off :-(
Fitted the HRC QAT tube. Tube only required used original cables and housing only downside you need to access throttle cable endsto fit and adjust free play. Took me about an hour.
