I still need to sell the Fireblade I gave the R6 race bike a service today along with replacing the winter coolest with just water for racing and lock-wired everything up. Tomorrow it's getting the throttle cables lubricated and a few small bits and bobs that could really do with being sorted but have been putting off for the bigger stuff.
Bloody typical...ordered MC from Italy, arrived in 3 days (and delivery was free!), just ordered the matching clutch lever from a UK supplier and not in stock for 4 weeks and they charge a tenner for delivery...aaarrrggh!
The twm clutch lever is near identical to the brembo clutch lever and Mike at the biker discount store does them and are half the price of the brembo
Finish rewiring and heat shrinking the rear lights so am ready for a test ride this weekend if the sun shines
received this today. so happy. going to wait until the swingarm is powdercoated black then stick it on. can anyone with one of these on their 04-07 bike please chime in as to where exactly is the best place to rivnut it on. cheers!
Chain cleaned with paraffin ,dried off, then re lubed with Wurth dry chain lube. Suspension linkage and rear wheel cleaned with WD40. Checked torque setting on rear axle nut.
Stared at it longingly praying for the gritters to breakdown and for the mercury to hit double figures....this is killing me
Also got a cheeky wee number from HM, thanks to a forum member. May I mention, he has helped me immensely with all things technical and the support a true credit too this forum. Also got me rain light installed.fat bloke happy.
I put my new SP rear cowl on, vacuum bled my brakes and RCS 19 master cylinder, and put a new folding clutch level on to match the brembo level that comes with the RCS19. Checked tyres and oil and lubed / adjusted chain.......ready for my first ride on 2015!! Chilly though!!
Had my 2012 Balance free shock serviced and revalved by those nice people at K-Tech Just got to clean all of the linkage, check the bearings and regreasing them before refitting it all
Got round to finishing last few bits today from my winter to do list. Got my ASV levers on, Renthal grips, Renthal front and rear sprockets and Renthal chain. New Pilot Power 2CT tyres both ends. Bendix brake pads on. Honda racing screen on. Lightech rearsets fitted. TaylorMade exhaust and PCv5 installed, going on dyno in couple of weeks to map, at same time having suspension set up at P&H Crawley. GiPro gear indicator on, rear foot pegs removed too (done by splitting subframe). New wing mirror cover on to replace a cracked one. But my favourite bit I've got done is have my comfort seat re-trimmed in a waterproof alcantara effect vinyl. Looks almost identical, it's amazing stuff - not common, and made in Germany, but I think it looks great! Sorry for the gratuitous photos, but I've not seen my bike looking this clean for ages, so I thought I'd enjoy it while it lasts! Bike is cleaned and ready for the summer
Well it wasn't sunny but it was dry so took the bike out properly for the first time and had a a good but cold day out on the bike, took a few miles to get my mojo back but looking forward to more warm weather
