This is the bracket but had to drill the hole out for the 8mm bolt http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAT-NAV-P...242?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d24af6ce2
Shock linkage, frame & swing arm cleaned then Acf50 applied. Tank cover refitted to bike then all bodywork waxed up.
Same here. Swingarm off to be powder coated. New bearings and seals going in, new chain as well. Then engine covers coming off to be done as well. So oil being dumped and new filter and oil change being done. (Was due one anyway and although I usually do it myself might as well just get it done whilst it's there) Coolant and radiator change as well with samco hoses going on instead of oem rubber. Phew. Won't see it for another week and a bit I recon.
Having removed the PAIR system and the Air Duct Flapper, I then removed the diaphragm from the air duct, and blocked the hole. Opened up the outside air channels and blocked the holes where the flapper lets air in when the main flap is shut. (PS: I know this is largely considered a pointless mod, but my diaphragm was rusted to buggery, coupled with the corrosion on the arm that connects to the flapper, meant that there is no way it could have been operating smoothly and consistently... junk the bloody thing!) Then refitted air duct and air box, fitted nice new K&N filters. Then fitted Speedo Healer (in preparation for new chain and sprockets next winter) and fitted a Servo Eliminator to remove the servo motor, so I've got somewhere to mount the Speedo Healer and also my PCV. Replaced the coolant hoses on the left hand side of the bike with my chinese cheapies... needed to cut a 10mm off either end of one of the hoses to make it work, but all done. Then filled with distilled water, ran to temp (first time it's ran since October!!!) , and let drain out. Might repeat that step again tomorrow to ensure all the old coolant is flushed out. So tomorrow should hopefully see me fill her up with Motul Mocool Expert, refit all the bodywork, and go for a ride
Akra fitted, and a bit of buff and tickle... Hoping for better weather the rest of the weekend so I can go for a bit of a ride. Next job, new tyres...
Find a 2015 S1000RR on the highway after a good trip..... i'm thinking this guys is still looking why its Beemer was behind me ...... lol
Spent all day removing bodywork, radiators off and cleaned and carbs off and ready for ultrasonic cleaning on my NC30, was going to check the valves, but decided to reward my efforts so far with a beer, the valves can wait until tomorrow
Was going for a ride but some nagging thought made me check the MOT. Oh well best I watch the rest of the BSB as it ran out on the 21st March
Just taken a deposit for it Time to concentrate on my track / race riding (and maybe get a daytime MOT on the R6 )
Took the bike to the Dyno today to get the power commander remapped and set up. Reports are that pre map it was over-fuelling at low-mid range, which would explain the hesitancy at light throttle. All been sorted now with an extra 10bhp to boot. The tuner suggested that my first ride out I should take a little bit of time to get used to the different throttle response as the power curve starts a lot earlier than it did. Also the bike got its first ride on the trailer I built....which did the job beautifully.
PC5 has arrived. Probably fit it the weekend. Still on the stock exhaust and air filter. Don't see an O2 eliminator... Should I get one of those and maybe remove the PAIR system??
