Been a good day! Rear pegs removed and carbon frame protectors fitted Now to get the Metzelers fitted and that's it for a few weeks lol
Nice bike ! So is that a 2012 ? Trying to get my head around the TT editions...didn't they change the design in 2013 to the more tri-colour style ?
No buddy, it's a 2014. The bike was resprayed by the Honda dealer on delivery at the previous owners request. Think you're right, they did change to tricolour at some point.
Fitted my heated grips with modified and painted bracket and stainless bolts. Fitted a Scottoiker e-system. Fitted my zumo 550 mount and wiring. All in prep for mine and my dads ride to my uncles villa in south Spain, canny wait! I wired all the grips and sat nav through a 5 pin relay using the number plate light as the trigger, I also wired my optimate plug through the normally closed pin on the relay, so I don't blow it off the wall if I start the bike with it attached. The sat nav supply is wired through the relay to a 12v DC female 2.5mm plug up near the headstock, so I can plug it in or remove the whole assembly in seconds.
Was all set for a sunny evening ride out & my Friday night spam fritter & chips......then dropped it on the driveway Foot peg fooked & scuffs in usual places.....the saving grace was the good old gb covers did their job! Good job I've a full bottle of JD & a box of tissues
Cheers Max was going to catch up this week as I've just finished a few projects and been mega busy, A good friend of mine that owed me a favour or two ended up painting them for me! Result... Weather looking good over the next few weeks so will give you a tinkle for a catch up and ride
Oil and filter change found out that the previous owner had put the oil filter on with about 10000nm of torque. used the bolt at the top to hammer a screw driver through then used a ring spanner with the screwdriver to lever the tension off it ! forgot to order a new sump plug and washer so just threw the old one back on
New asv levers on just waiting for akropovic that's just been ordered starting to look and feel more like my bike now
Gilles chain adjusters, K&N filter, PCV, LED map switch, new brake pads. And discovered that you really should do everything on a rear wheel in a logical order, in case you forget something rather important, like tightening up the rear axle.
@Dave dunlop, have you got a photo of the entire bike? The front and rear guards look mega, can only imagine what the rest look like!
Dave, do you lube your chain or just clean it after each ride? WD40 on a clean rag seems to do the trick for me.
Need to upload a photo of the whole bike with the repainted guards. Absolutely stunning bike mate, jesus.
