No, but I ordered on earlier in the week. Honda price - about 80 quid. MV (and please don't think I'm an idiot) £304.20. Bleedin' ridiculous, I know, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! Should arrive next week.
This arrived today so hopefully I'll get time over the weekend to get the back wheel off and clean that chain!!
Should b Should be good. I've got Renthal on the Blade. Did you get to Aldi for the cleaner? I posted earlier that they're only 200ml cans. Still 'reasonable' value, I suppose.
No didn't get any of the wd40 chain cleaner. I've got the motul cleaner and lube kit which also includes a brush!
Got this fitted today, not everyone’s cup of tea but I like it, also got Hel braided lines and suspension set up.
Well had to buy a new battery, I was going to buy a lithium battery but the guy said the battery I wanted would not be covered in the warranty if I don’t use the batteries makers own charger!!! So I just bought a Gel battery and it’s compatible with my optimate. Also need a new back tyre so it’s a nice new BT023 for ma Blade
Bloody hell. That's a good bit of advice for those seeking lithium batteries. I'm sure not all lithium manufacturers make such a stipulation though. Just a shame that some companies seem to set out to shaft potential customers.
Finally got chance to get the back wheel off today, give everything a good clean and fit the new sprocket! Would have liked to put matching gold chain on as well but the chain that's on is in excellent condition, plus I need tyres more!! Does it need some blingy bolts though??
Looks great as is, Paul. Consider that you might change the rear sprocket for certain track days, so on that basis, any 'blingy' bolts/nuts might suffer nicks and scratches. Leave the bling to those of us who just look at our bikes!!
I actually got my backside into garage for longer than 10 minutes and stuck the Puig screen on and the Eazi-Grip stompad type thingies on the tank.
Today I also 'wrapped' the infill panels that are located under the riders seat in gloss white. I've left them in the house overnight so they cure properly and will update with pictures later. Got some nice HRC decals to finish the job off nicely.
I think it will finish off the tank section nicely! As you can see here, it's just black plastic. Be interesting to know if anyone else has thought about doing this or have I just started off a new trend??
Finally got round to fitting the HM QS. Still can't wipe the smile off my face. What a of a bit of kit this thing is. Still got a bit of the wiring to tidy up & hide away but overall I am very pleased with it. Totally addictive blasting through the gears. Got it setup with 50% sensitivity and 65ms kill time :-0
Tinkered around in the tyre changing shed as it's new boots time again. Perfect for next weekends track day. Also went down a tooth on the rear as the gearing was too short for the smaller tracks.
Great to do your own tyres. Takes the stress out of wondering if a tyre tech will scratch your rims. A bit over-the-top, I know, but it surely does happen. Any dramas with balancing?
I have a wheel balancer too. I use my kit mainly on the track bike though as I don't go through anywhere near as many tyres on the road bike.
