Wish I had rode it...... but instead spent the best part of the day cutting the grass in the field, tractor mower dumped one its belts and lost knuckles and temper putting it back on. Still I got about an acre and half cut. Only 4 more to do! Time to buy somewhere with less land me thinks.
Rode it to scrub new tyres in hit a dead deer round a blind bend had a massive save and cleaned the blood off, lucky day for me
Blimey Shameless, that was a lucky save mate, someone’s been watching over your arse today. What with Exfire and now you, I am starting to feel bad about feeding the little roe deer that is living at the back of our field.
lost my appetite at the time, still nice big steak for tea. just waiting for the guests to come. Happy days go karting tomorrow with my lad, its his first time.
Glad you and the bike are ok shameless. Gonna start eating venison, just to reduce the numbers. saw one when I was out on the bike last week, I shouted at it and told it I had killed it's relatives dont think it understood but it didnt jump out in front of me.
I think the one I hit was death! didnt seem to flinch, passed the car that hit it half a mile up the road, burst front tyre and no head light. And guess what, it was a Volvo
Isn't there some law that says if you're the one that hit it you can't keep it but if you come across it afterwards you can? Or is that an urban myth?
removed my Gilles VCRs today and put the standards back on. All being well Phantom is buying them at the end of this month.
Fitted the left hand clip on at last!!!!! Clutch fluid reservoir had sheared the retaining screw. I managed to drill a 3mm hole into the stub and then gently tapped in a terminal driver and unscrewed the stub. Fitted new screw and 'o' rings, supplied by stu @ cox honda. Thanks again stu. Just need some dot 4 and a bit of bleeding, then the bike is ready to ride up to the GF's garage for a strip down, clean and rebuild. A thread will be started wi lots of pics in case anyone wants to take the piss.
happy days.....will you still keep it away from the redline until the 600 service? I dont know how good that running in oil is so will you be waiting till it has a belly full of synthetic before giving it some serious beans?
Spent 2hrs taking mid fairings and nose cone off, then air tubes out, de-flappered, all pipes and solinoids gone and then back together, ignition on and start............ no Fi lights and she runs fine, so if anyones gonna do it, rip the lot out with no probs. Just taped up the rubber boot that covers the plug connectors for the solinoid leads. ps. also put a couple of layers of duct tape over the holes left by the flying saucer shaped acctuators that where on the top of the air tubes.
Think I'll continue to build the revs not that I've been holding back much anyway. Just haven't pinned it through the revs/box as of yet. Will be running a semi synthetic for a few thousand before switching to a fully. Have 8 litres of Castrol Power 1 Racing in the shed but will use some Silkolene Comp4 for the 1st service.
Ordered a Gilles shift support today from cal sport. Couldn't find a black one so had to go with the titanium. Hopefully will be here soon.
Here you go, the pic is of my bike http://www.calsport.co.uk/HONDA/727...8_/118-Other_Parts/Gilles_Gear_Shift_Supports
