Yep or occasional use. So someone like @nigelrb with half a dozen bikes obviously cant ride them all, all the time so a dose of this stabiliser assures no issues related to fuel degradation.
I ride all year and my bikes never sit more than a week or two without being rode so I never use it, but it is a very cheap way to provide some insurance.
Precisely. There is research that states fuel 'loses' some of its octane rating after sitting for only 3 weeks. For our purposes, the percentage amount is probably negligible - unless the bike is in a longer term store. Hitch is correct in saying that I don't ride all my bikes regularly, although I prefer to give them all a monthly run. In the case of my 1985 VF1000R and NS400R (two-stroke) they are bikes perhaps more suspect to 'gumming up' as Hitch points out. They are carburettor models which, ideally, should be drained before storage. The fuel stabiliser in these prevents (or is said to prevent!) deterioration of rubber components and seals within the carbys and fuel lines. Depending on temperature, the process of gumming up or varnishing is akin to rigormortis - stiff and useless. Premium fuel of the 'ethanol-free' type will also prevent such degradation.
I dont get that @Spygoat - if its for the track what do you need more lights (weight) for, but for the road are mirrors not more useful? Looks cool though Amendment - didn’t see the bar end mirrors at first look (thanks @nigelrb) - understand now, but still don’t really as bar end mirrors just make you wider - in my opinion
USA seems to be the home of 'bar end' mirrors. That extra width would annoy me though. Once again, it's each to their own. On the plus side, it gives the fairing a much 'cleaner' look. I guess this will be our last viewing of the Repsol version? You'll be Back in Black next week?
We have to have mirrors on a road bike. This is not a track only bike. Those LED mirror block offs and the bar end mirrors weigh less than one stock mirror. Plus, the bar end mirrors are very easy to remove for track days. As for width, we have plenty of that in America. Both in our streets and the waists of many, many citizens. I also believe that has a lot to do with the popularity of Harley Davidson..lol
Broke out the SP2 for a good ride this morning. Quite windy in W Midlands and not quite cold enough to need heated grips. Bit of a wipe down when I got home, oiled chain, cleaned my nuts (on rear sprocket) and slid it back in to the lounge room just in time for Judge Judy! As others have already said, the spate of 4 to 5 degrees over the next few weeks will cut short a few outings.
Had the beast out on Saturday for a blast after I put on some stompgrips and R&R fork protection. I've only had the bike a month... Give her a quick wipe over and decided to take the bodywork off... and by the time I'd finished I had the tank off to find I had K&N filters on it, which is a bonus.
WELL..... It all depends on the car, i had a 2015 GTR, Now that car was mental and a proper weapon...and just amazing to just take out for no reason, just for a blast. But I will admit I have to agree with you, I never got the same buzz as I do when I'm out on the bike.
Because The Doctor also rode the Repsol. Also, the average American has no clue as to who The Doctor even is. In fact, you have a better chance they think it's a British TV character.
Surely you jest. VR has worn that tag for most of his 500cc/MotoGP career. Any follower who does not associate 'The Doctor' with VR can not be much of an enthusiast. Might it be the case though, that there's more interest in the AMA series over MotoGP in USA? We know Austin has been struggling for spectators.
I wasn't talking about fans, I was talking about the average American, even one who rides a sports bike. The average American has no idea what MotoGP is. AMA Roadracing (now Moto America) struggles to sell tickets when they sell them for $12. Moto America gives the races away for free online and nobody watches them. There is a TON of interest in AMA Motocross, but that is about it.

Postage would make it inequitable, @PauloHRC . Put my SP up on the ABBA stand for a couple of months. Such a friggin' effort with the front lift. NEC had no good deals on Warriors or 1jacs. If @Wozza isn't taking his out, then neither am I
To right N.......it's going no where for now although all this wind and rain is washing any salt that went down away about a week ago so who knows there is always hope.....Christmas Day always good roads are quiet for some reason.......
