Remember when we were school kids and used to tease about 'girl germs'? I haven't forgotten! So, no ride.
Was dry but cold today, but geared up, heated grips on full and rode some of my favourite county roads, had a great ride, but home after a few hours, cleaned bike, cleaned and lubed chain and coating of ACF 50. Who needs sunshine
How fast did you get up to. Not doubting your skills but I recall someone saying their panels let go on a track day
Yes, I recall that. It was a very 'black' day for him!! I know I touched a shade over the ton on a nearby private road.
Just ordered 4-stroke and 2-stroke oils from Opie, and K & N oil filter. Should have done this before I put my Castrol fairings on, but wasn't thinking ahead. NOW, I'll find out how good the tabs and lugs are!!
I haven't attacked this before, but from what I can see, it appears as if the right side fairing at least has to come off to successfully access the oil filter. (2011) I do accept correction if necessary.
Cheers guys. Hard to admit this, but I haven't done an oil/filter change on a bike since my CB750 K1 in 1971.
What *is* the process that you all use? I'm planning on changing the oil on the blade next year when I bring her out of winter slumber...was going to go for a little burn up to get everything too hot to touch, wait about 10 minutes then drop the oil, swap the filter (new sump plug washer?) and then refill with something nice.
That's pretty much what I do. I also start my bikes once a week in the winter and often can be found sitting on them making revving noises with the engine shut off.
Didn't someone mention on here NOT to start them up once a week because it can cause condensation to form? ...is it something to do with not getting everything up to temp?
