Not today but last Friday ragged it round donny, only my second track day and the first one was only half of one really. Got moved into inters after first session as I was lapping some of the riders. In inters I was one of the quicker riders to I was well chuffed, the new L0 is amazing and Donny is a million times better than silverstone. I'm booked again for July 19th can't wait. One of the 125 two stroke boys was on track he was coming past me like he was on rails unreal!!!
Fantastic . The bike felt awsome, the front felt planted with great feel, and the rear felt like it was THERE not vague like it did in the past, think i'm trying to say that at all times it felt balanced and that gave me confidence, the front end felt awsome under heavy braking, complete confidence and control. Best TD so far ....... roll on the next .. Oh and the Sportsmarts are a fantastic tyre heat up nice with loads of grip and feel . ( 29f 30r )
Hi mate, just a quick question, if you don't mind how much did the suspension set-up cost as this is on my to-do list, cheers
It was free but the tea was £50 ....... sorry couldn't help that. £50 for a standard set up on stock forks and shock mate. Andy told me that the blade is one of the best set up road bikes off the shop floor, the main thing was the rebound on the rear is a bit slow to react to whats going on at the front so can unsettle things and the sag needs setting, then a twiddle with comp and rebound on the front, feels very smooth and balanced now, best £50 i've spent.
Learned how to do clutch-less upshifts tonight. cant believe it has taken me 6 years to try this as its just so damn smooth
What revs are you at fez when your rolling off for the up shift ?? i'm usually touching between 7&8 thou' and its smooth as butter, i know this isn't detrimental to gearbox wear, but i'm always thinking ' sod it get an HM quick shifter but i don't know how these work, do you need to be on the llimiter to go up the box or what ??
mine cleared from customs yesterday , its at my mates shop now they are taking it out of the create now then its into the van and up to Sepang from singapore :-}} I'm am flying of in the morning to blast it around Sengang for the weekend WOOOOOHOOOOO
I'm going a definate shade of envy green as I'm sat in waiting for British Gas to come and install a new boiler whilst it's pissing down with rain again and the wife managed to bust the mower yesterday and the road tax is due on the car and............
Fitted some Techspec tank grips, got fed up with trying to polish the marks out. Not a fan but a necessary evil I think. If I really hate them (hoping they will grow on me) then at least I can get rid of them.
All the way from the US of A. Paid a fortune because I have no patience nor sense of value when it comes to spending on the bike. Hope the link works. TechSpec Gripster Tank Grip Pads - Honda CBR1000RR (2012) - C3 | eBay Obviously a piece of pi55 to fit (I may edit this when I see them in the daylight, fitted them in the shed) Not yet ridden the bike with them and I hate them from a aesthetics point of view as they cover up my lovely black shinyness. But as said, the black tank on the 2012 (prob all model years) seems to mark just by looking at it and I need to save my arm and wrist muscles for more enjoyable activities other than simply polishing the bloody tank every time I look at it. I'll update once I've ridden with them if you like.
lee, I've got a HM quick shitter on my RR6. Works a treat - no need for be on the limiter as long as you're on the power, and your above about 5k, it slots in every time. That aside it feels really good when you are near the red line as it feels like your cheating the laws of mechanics, a small part of my brain still expects the gearbox to explode but I know it won't. The key is to have a decent amount of positive throttle. Oh, and as you probably know already, it doesn't work going down through the gears. And to be relevant to the OP, today I received a new fairing panel and marvelled at its shinyness. Now I have to attack it with a 22mm drill bit so I can poke the crash mushroom through it. Wish me luck...
on the RSV4 tank back from paint and quick re lease fuel cap fitted GB engine covers fitted rear tire and picked up the HM quick shifter
Oops, I updated my personal mods thread, but did not do so here... About a week ago put ASV levers and Scorpion can on... Oh, and I finally put my 8*6 reg plate on... Looks alot better...
Right to start, one of the RH mid fairing tabs had broken off when i had my off and i didn't realise until after they had been resprayed and were being fitted back to the bike and of course it was one of the larger more important ones that stops the panel coming open as the wind blows in from the front. So for the past 6 months its been held in place with ever trusty Ductape, which worked well whilst i mulled over a solution. New panel + respray + new ventureshield panel = a lot of messing and unnecessary cost so i opted for fitting Dzus fairing clips in an appropriate and not too unsightly position, took my time drilling the under tray and mid fairing panel and here is the result i'm well happy and don't think they look out of place, just need to do the LH side to keep it looking balanced even though that side is undamaged, Also today my Gilles gear shift support arrived.......
Finally got the Akra system fitted, bloody awesome and so far no signs of needing to change the fueling. Only slight downside is the larger pipe work has melted a small part of the belly pan, oh well.
