It's still slowly coming to pieces at the front. I had forgotten what a pain access to the plugs is. The module is in the tail as they do dire warnings about heat but I haven't even got the air box out yet to hit the plug wiring problems. All advice very welcome. I took a break to get out some webbing and the leather-working tools to sew up a battery lift strap. I've been promising myself that for ages. It's made it a bit tighter but getting it out is now easy.
Lol just leave it Nige If there's no salt on it it'll be fine...use it & abuse it and just clean it every couple of weeks! Been out on mine all morning and the underneath is pretty much like yours and has been since beginning of Dec. No point wetting it...better off going back into the garage dry & bit dirty than have it damp internally during cold weather....unless this is one you've got in't house on't hearthrug Anyhow's my best present today was....sunshine and quiet roads and the speed camera chappies on holiday

Well I'm still Quick-Shifter fitting. I've got all the cables nicely dressed into the space under the air-box. I've taken the opportunity to move the Scottoiler, the GPS and the camera cables into that space as well running them out beside the throttle cables so it's getting awfully tidy. But now I need to 'fold back' the rubber sheet to get access to the plugs. It doesn't want to come. It seems to be held down all round. All the documentation seems to assume it's simple and obvious. I don't want to just pull hard, it isn't that sort of material. What will it be snagging on? Please can somebody explain why it really is simple and obvious and it's just me being a ding-bat. Please....
Cautiously stripped the rear end today, need to get the subframe apart to fit the hooks then all will go back together. Bolt in the rear reflector of the tail started spinning so had to smash it off, otherwise not a bad run. Also one of the clips on the tail fairing was broken from it coming off a previous time. New tail tidy will look much better! then the radiator and exhaust to go! Does anyone have the reflector bolt/or a part number so I can replace for if I want to return to stock tail tidy? Cheers
I have been in there twice now on my bike and as I have a poor memory couldn’t give you a step by step guide. However I vaguely remember it tucks under the air intakes and possibly has like a double sided sticky tape holding it in place. Don’t remember it causing me a problem, but you’re correct in pointing out it’s not the kind of material that would withstand brute force. I found I had to loosen off the left fairing and pop the air intake out a bit to get access to the left coil. If you go down this route it may better reveal how the rubber sheet is held in place. Take it easy, you’ll get there. Maybe someone with a better memory than me could chip in.

YES! OMG what a horrible piece of design. You glue something that is inside the frame to the outside of the frame under an air duct that is under the fairing. I've done one side but my space is a bit confined so I need to move things about to get the other side apart now. The next time it comes back from a service and they list new plugs I shall not be surprised at the labour hours.
Oh that wonderfully satisfying click as the last plug latches home (pull, wiggle, s'ok) and now the job is just putting things back together again.
