Road test and evaluation needed... Although I don't drive in the dark but yes I agree it is a major safety booster if its brighter
Got the quick release couplings onto the new made lines ready to change the whole breaking system at the weekend
It's slightly different to the last one I had as im sure that was 'Push' only. They must have updated them to be push or pull and the sensor is slightly different too.
Just ordered some new rubber supercorsa SP V3........to replace the V2 that are on ....only ride in the dry any wear is pretty good especially with the electronic suspension doing its thing....
So I rode to work on it today and heres my no scientific evaluation. Worth the 20 odd quid and I'd do it again in a heart beat if I had too! Ok, bit more context. The blade has one of the best headlights out of the bikes I've ridden/owned (Yamaha MT07, Yamaha MT10SP, BMW S1000R, R1200R plus a load of 125's but we won't talk about those ). On dipped light, I don't really notice much more range than the stock bulb - but a lot more brightness in the area that the dipped bulb would cover so therefore I see more on the road. I do 22 miles of unlit dual carriage way and the dipped light illuminates all of lane 2. Very happy with that. Full beam, holy balls that is like a night sun. Didnt think it could get much better than stock but it feels like I have a bit more range. I can see as far as the road goes. And perhaps its because of the LED nature of it, but the lights pick out reflective material very well. Like the white parts on road signs, they glow a mile away now and the silver reflective material used on Hi Vis etc show up much brighter and from much further away as well which I see as a good thing. Obviously I can't see myself but I have no doubt that I have added visibility as well because of the white light and the extra lumens. Performance might even be approved if I adjusted the headlights, but I am sufficiently happy to leave them as is. Double thumbs up and a very worthwhile upgrade. Cheap and easy to do yourself. I'm satisfied that they'll have a decent longevity based on the feedback that others have given already.
Thanks Mate, I appreciate the lowdown. Guess thats something else for the list then...just maybe not this month as I seem to have spent a packet already
Hi @Empty_Ten, very informative feedback, for reference do you have a link (Amazon, eBay, wherever) to the ones you bought please - thanks
Here’s a link to one i’ve had my eye on for a while. Wasn’t sure if it was worth doing but after reading that i might now https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170777000340
Definitely worth adding to the list IMO. I don't see lockdown being lifted till the end of the month so next month is fine https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/1188618258 here is the link to the ones I bought. I found them on this thread https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/led-headlight.30098/ and lots of great feedback about them. Cor, with the ballast box and all that wiring, it looks a complete faff! Try the bulbs, under £20 for a set, plug and play and easy fitting!
Hang fire @LRJimmy - if, when these ones come, they don’t work with my Doppellicht twin headlamp adaptor you can have them as a freebie. I’ll let you know they should arrive 18th May EDIT - I’ve asked Jens and he is unsure if they will or not
Doh! Need my eyes testing, I looked but couldn’t see the wood for the trees! Do I order, that’s the question....
