016s - some good deals on those. I'm ashamed(ish) to admit that on my Blade I'm using up the Michelin Road 5 cast-offs from Z1000SX - I put a new set on the Kawasaki before every long European tour and the Honda gets to use up the remaining tyre life. I know it sounds wrong...
Just picked up a pair of BT-016 for £135 delivered which i thought was a cracking deal. Older version of the current hypersport tyre (S22 - that cheapest i can find is £229 a pair), but still 3/5 compound and likely more of a tyre than i can push to the limit. Got the bike with a BT-023 rear and T30 evo front (sport touring) on - so i'm sure the pair of BT-016 as they are branded as hypersport will be much grippier and stable. Going to try and fit myself (may be mad!) so got a pair of bead breaker tyre irons, rim shields and an abba wheel balancer - means i can do both bikes then and then some more (or throw everything, stamp on it then trudge down to the local tyre shop!)
Off work this week so as well as the street hooks fitted yesterday, got a couple more bits done today. Popped on a set of Eazi-grips to stop me sliding around so much - I'm glad the transparent doesnt cover up the carbon too much: Also finally got around to replacing my bent gear lever and footpeg which have been for over a year now...
Fitted a manual CCT to replace the OEM automatic one that I think was on the way out. Now I'm paranoid that I've set it too tight.
What manual CCT did you get? Main reason for not going OEM - price or problems. Never had to change one but seeing as the bike I've got now has 45k miles on, need to do valve gaps (and last service the previous owner had said they were tight!), might just change CCT whilst it's off

I'd read a lot about how poor the Honda automatic CCTs are so I thought I'd give a manual one a go. The manual one is significantly cheaper. You're looking at nearly £120 for the OEM part and gasket, the manual one from ebay was £30.
Even better, tyres turned up today and they are the BT-016 Pro version (pair for £135 delivered!). Will have a go at fitting as want to spray wheels whilst the tyres are off, but if it's a complete pain will take the painted wheels and new tyres down the shop. Mmmm these new tyres smell nice!!
That is a cracking price , I got mine through my local bike garage and he fitted and balanced them . Paid £170 thought that was a good price . £20 cheaper than last time And yes they do smell good
Trying out some new boots for the road bike. I have plans for the wheels though, so may not get to fit them for a couple of weeks.
Broke my ½" Ratchet handle yesterday loosening the caliper bolts. Was an old, cheap, wobbly halfords affair and no great loss. Finding the ideal replacement on ebay (mid quality, the right switches and will fit in the box.) got me started: YATO Ratchet handle. Teng Tools 8, 10 and 12mm combo spanners. Bondhus 5mm T-handle allen key. The Bondhus is the size that I'm always switching bits on my ¼" T-bar to and from - the spanners are sheer extravagance, uprating my reach-fors from medium quality to good. I like buying tools. Have never been able to afford the best in full sets but over the years have upgraded a spanner here and a screwdriver there and have never regretted any of them. This time round there's a cascade going on - my user spanners get upgraded and a level or two down out drop ones that I rarely reach for. Enough have dropped out to form a set to give to my mate's kid. It's a motley assortment of old Drapers, eastern block OEMs, unbrandeds and a BMW stamped 13/17 that I've had forever and never known where it came from. They're all fit for purpose though. ...and will be joined by a similarly motley assortment of other tools. I'm enjoying the retrospective nature of tool upgrading and don't think I'm done yet - think I'll try and work it into my mid-life crisis.
M9rr fitted, changed the oil, filter, cleaned the BMC air filter and re oiled, fitted new sprockets and chain, cleaned the brake pots and checked the pads, rdy for some bedding in tomorrow in the forecasted 45mph gusts
