like the look of the SP cowl. I need the Chinese to make red one as getting a white/black one then getting it painted up etc ticks the top difficult/expensive box
Rattle Can painting is a fairly easy skill to quicly develop (needs must etc.) so long as it's a plain colour and not translucent/candy. Would still add about £15 - £20 though.
aye I had looked into it and got the prices from RS paints. But with the paint, clear coat/lacquer and shipping - the price was coming up quite rapido. Tight arse me
Another couple of tasks ticked off the list... VHT Satin Black and Autosol. Front Discs Re-Bobbined. LHS had got a bit free laterally due to jammed caliper dust seals on outside of LH Caliper. Both calipers replaced, were a bit crusty anyway, but discs are well within thickness tolerance and have no measurable run-out
First day out on the bike since I fitted the DynoJet Power Commander 5. Just a quick blip round in a circle. More power? No clue as I never went out of a limit but that's the Sussex coast... Did it feel different? Well maybe. If I was test riding a bike where all the engine internals had been lightened that would be it. If I say 'the acceleration in neutral is staggering' you probably know what I mean. The acceleration in the lower gears, all I could use, is unchanged at 'suicidal insanity' level. And it made the Translogic quick shifter even more of a deal as I'm only just getting used to it. Oh well. Wonderful to be back on the bike after over two months of lay-off. How I love the blade's 'you just look at the target, I'll steer' attitude. The problem, close around here, is finding places that offer an excuse to slow down so I can speed up again. And I got home just before it tipped down. Bonus. Pity the ABS light is flashing.
Thought it was you who rapidly sold the ABS model and bought the non-ABS as a replacement! ...I must have got my wires crossed
Nope. It's pretty stock and DJ have a library of 'we dun dis wun before' that has good rep. Not me. I've deliberately tried the ABS and it's good. However I take the point that it doesn't 'fail safe'. It's due a service so either I or my dealer can change the fluid and bleed it. Then, if it doesn't clear, I can make further plans afterwards.
Ride out to Buxton. Decided to give the new RST 1 piece a good ride out. Great views and great twisty roads.
Stuck a pair of Power 5's on the 14 Blade. Feels strange for sure.....as does any new set of tyres. Hope they are as good as the Angel GT's.
Took a drive to Bournemouth this morning to pick these up for next year. I plan on doing braided lines and a full fluid flush over winer, plus a possible respray of the original fairings. Might do my calipers white aswell.
Happy on road or on track, photo from yesterday on the Nant Y Garth Pass and Thursday on a Bennett's Rewards track day, just love riding this bike.
