Stripping all the bits off the blade ready for its departure was wondering if the Gb racing covers might have caused some grit/rub damage to the casings which some one on here was talking about. Anyway all good here! Been a busy weekend stripping bits off both bikes actually. Removed engine covers, pegs, MRA screen, chain guard off the blade and Arrow exhaust, MRA screen, healtech gear indicator, and carbon heel guards off the R1. Will sell all those bits to the tune of about £700 so a good weekends work in my book!
Very nice!!!! Will you keep the decals on it and will you track it? What power are these things now, something berserk like 217bhp?
Technically not just today... But she stopped working about 2 weeks ago, fuel pump priming, but no spark. Turns out spark plugs needed a clean, and the MAP sensor hose was loose. Anyhoo, since the bike was totally naked and in pieces, decided to give her an overhaul. Fuel filter cleaned K&N air filter Heated grips added Braided lines front and back New rear shock bearings Coolant change Oil+filter change. (Whoever had it before probably topped it up with pond water) New rubber ACF50 in all the nooks and crannies Rad Guard Front fork protectors Arrow can. Sounds MINT Quick clean and wax Next in the list is new fork oil and internals, but that's when I've got money again
What are your plans for this Nik? Are you going to do a re-valve at the same time? Ktech do a revalve kit with new springs and compression adjusters for about £430. You still need new seals, bushes and fluid on top of this. Think I'll be doing mine next winter.
I've looked at that, and is a definite maybe! Keeping my eyes peeled for a good 2nd hand deal on something a little more posh also. Right now, I reckon just some nice new springs and a proper setup/tune by someone much cleverer than I would go a long way as the forks are functioning just fine (seemingly).
