Looks like it’s a 2012 rad rather than an 08. Feeling pretty stupid not to have noticed when I swapped them!
If you want to keep the newer radiator on the bike speak to Racebikebitz to see if they can supply you with the one 2012 hose that you need?
After 9 months off the bikes for many reasons, finally got me arse together and give the 400 a 150 mile shakedown, unfortunately the Blade still sits on the stand in bits, winters come and gone and need to motivate myself to put it back together again.
Had a 1st ride of the year on the R1m took me a while to get use to it again after being round blades all week ...can't believe next week temp drops again....clear run at 7am before the Mother's Day brigade woke up..

After picking up my new to me 2020 1000RR-R i have fitted the following: Akrapovic Exhaust hanger and removed rear pegs New HRC tank pad R&G brake lever guard Puig Double bubble screen R&G bobbins GB Racing engine covers Waiting on: 43 tooth rear Sprocket HEL Calipers HEL Master Cylinder K-Tech fork internals K-Tech rear spring for my weight (with gear on)
Doesn’t it come with brembos mate? Or You just prefer the hel calipers? some cracking parts still to come
Headlamp pod modification for projectors... Replaced Xenons/controllers with LEDs. Heatsink too deep so standard covers nbg: Modelled these and got a friend to 3D print (PLA) them for me... dropped off this morning: Obviously the finish isn't as OEM but they fit and will keep the weather and wet wash out Some wiring to fettle through the existing holes and fit grommets and refit to 'bike.
Do those covers get hot at all? I'd keep an eye on them as PLA starts to deform at quite low temps. I would have probably chosen ABS but it can be a bitch to print.
Only just got up to speed with 3D printing... this was my first model to be printed. Another friend advised nylon, as I commented to them the PLA seems surprisingly brittle, but entry level printers don't go that hot or are unreliable at upper temperature limits. PLA is fine for now as the LEDs don't get 'proper hot' plus I think any heat will dissipate easily on the bike. If anything becomes a problem I guess I could use a 3D print Service to do better quality, permanent versions in Nylon (an expensive option) but ABS is a good call :thumbs up: Appreciate your input, seems to be a complicated thing to get right... Trial and error
Yep, 3D printing is a fun but steep learning curve sprinkled with a modicum of frustration. I've done loads with it though, its my favourite tool in the box, so to speak. The only stuff I've done for my bike so far are quadlock type fork-stem phone mounts (work pretty well but destroy modern phones' cameras ) and some double curved gopro mounts I designed specifically for the blade's front fairing and another less aggressive curved mount for the single seat unit. I was going to share them on here but haven't got around to it yet.
