Easy job. Fitted a Quadlock mount on a ball mount from Telferizer after seeing a couple on here. Just using an old Sony phone as a GPS HESD mount : https://www.telferizer.com/honda/ Quadlock + Vibration Damper : https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/products/1-ball-mount-motorcycle-kit-universal-fit Socket arm : https://www.amazon.co.uk/FANAUE-Double-Socket-Compatible-Components/dp/B0BYDNKFBZ Total cost : £103.80
Can you actually see the route displayed on the screen?? I find it hard enough trying to read the info on my screen when I'm on my road bike (bicycle/racer) If I'm going anywhere where I need sat nav on a motorbike, I just plug earphones into my phone and 'Listen' to the directions. Much easier in my experience, especially on a spirited ride !
Sun was out so got to test it. It didn't seem too bad to me. Could read it well enough for a quick glance to see the next direction. Harder to see the distance/time etc though. Maybe the vibration damper that I have with it does help ?
Mmmm - shiny! Purring like a kitten. Will likely change the washer to a spacer at some point to lift the lock nut above the level of the allen bolt head. There's enough nut to nip it but it'd be easier if it were up a bit.
40k Posting the pic I noticed I'd forgotton to transfer over the original copper washers. On now. Glad I caught it before the bodywork was back on.
Sound. Finger tight then a quarter turn. Fired it up from cold. Rattled like a bitch. Shut it down. Another quarter turn. Fired it up. Quieter. Shut down. Another quarter turn.... ...and when you fire it up and there's no rattle you leave it running and fine-tune. Go back out that last quarter turn then come in slowly. When you find the spot where the rattle stops that's it. Nip up the locknut. I let it cool again while ckeaning up the brake calipers(and fitting the forgotten copper washers) then fired it up from cold. There was maybe the tiniest hint but not really a rattle. More like a few clicks here and there. Warm it sounds great. Had a few beers so no test run but when I do I'll do a top gear roll-on and listen out in the low-mid rev range. The blade was a bit of a footer. Usually you don't have to stop and start the engine but there' was so little room to play and I didn't want the tensioner shaking itself loose while I had the spanner off..
I thought it'd done quite well too. 5K - That's awful! To be fair, this bike has munched an alternator every 15k and took a reg/rec with it the last time so probably feels it's doing it's part to keep Honda's reputation alive. Went for a run. All good. ...or at least I'm back to not being able to tell if the chain's loose because of the clatter of the PAIR valves. They're next on the list of annoying noises to get rid of. I thought i'd get used to it but that's years now and the sound still irritates. Maybe because it's such a similar noise to light chain rattle.
Think the old battery (cheap Numax YTZ10S) was on its way out as bike almost didn't turn over at the weekend whilst I was out. Checked it on a charger and voltage looked good but swapped it today with a Noco Lithium and now it's noticeably turning over easier.
Looks a bit fancy does that! Never seen terminals on a battery like those before. How have you connected it??
Yeah they are a bit weird Just using the normal connectors on the top posts. Only niggle is that there isn't any slack in the cables as it would be better to attach them to the side of the posts as the lip on the cable bracket hits the angled bit of the posts so it's a little skewed. Ideally I just need to cut the end off the bracket so it's completely flat or bend the end of it so it sits flat. No more losing the square nut anymore though
I did see that. Might have another look at it tonight and see if that would be better. Otherwise I'll probably just bend the cable bracket
