Got all my final parts fitted.... New levers , stomp grip , chain , hrc socks , And got the engine bolt hole drilled out and helicoiled aswell so got the crash bung refitted.. Oh ad put the cover on her too !
So much for a quick service on the 929, by coincidence he charging systems decided I start playing up. Found the culprit, well least I think I have. Parts ordered. Thanks Art for sanity checking my findings.
Honestly mate. Suppose it's a really good advert for ACF, it's my daily but always covered in the stuff. Look at the back end, covered in shit. The block of wood's not normally there, holding up the tank to get at the stator connector.
Doesn't seem to make much difference, although if it was wrapped in carbon there's bound to be a market?
Fixed my sticking throttle by pulling it off and greasing under the throttle tube. Also fitted my R&G Bar Ends from Nutty Tart. And gave her a good wash...
Finally finished sorting the 929 ready for its winter duties. Serviced, including coolant, air filter and new front brake pads. Ordered a new stator and cover gasket from David Silver, awesome service as arrived the next day. Gave it a quick wash and ACF'd it up.
Cheers mate. It's an anti corrosive, use it on both the bikes. The 929's ridden all year round, doesn't get religiously cleaned every week yet seems to be holding up fairly well considering. If it wasn't pissing down I'd try to get some better pictures to show. http://www.acf-50.co.uk/ Not cheep, but well worth it IMO The bike before it was cleaned and serviced this week After a quick wash and re app of ACF Some of the bolts and fastenings are looking a little tired now, but to date not ones been replaced on the bike, two full winters and circa 20k of riding in the last two years. Those hawk eyes out there will notice the heated grips and Scott Oiler, not had to change the chain or sprockets yet either.
Spent most of yesterday cleaning it after the horrendous rain we had last week Took all the fairings off and gave it a thorough deep clean...looking nice and shiny again Also installed 2 white and very bright LED's to illuminate the back wheel up....pic to follow shortly
Well yesterday was dry (Although Bloody Cold !!) So did think about taking the bike out for a spin. Just at that point a gritting lorry drove past the house in full `spray` mode . So scrubbed it. Went into garage , space heater on and fired her up . gave her another polish too then put the cover back on
Left hand subframe off and that pillion footrest off too. Started to piece her back together when I got the call from er indoors "are going out"!! Took one look at all the nuts, bolts, fasteners, fixings, bits of plastic still to go back on and thought to myself...where the fook are they all going to go?? Hung over yesterday so definitley wasn't finishing the job off then so onto next weekend we go.
