There's a few threads 'to drill or not to drill' was one if I remember correctly Bit of mixed feedback on sound, I think it varied on taste and also how good a job you do with drilling
I laid my eyes on it for the first time in 6 weeks as I've not been home. Now just waiting for a mildish day to go for a blast :roll eyes:might be waiting a while!
Phantom, Mine pops flames also, definitely needs a power commander as the mid range suffered once the baffle was out. Still plenty of power though so for the sound it makes it can be lived with!!!!! Watch this link. CBR 1000 RR 09, Fireblade, Leo Vince Exhaust.MOV - YouTube
I have the powercommander on mine. lucky enough a mate on another forum said he will send me his custom map for his 09 which is near identical spec so that will keep me going until I get some dyno time.
Fitted NRC engine case , oil an filter change , removed pair system , fitted Leo Vince full factory exhaust system , Fitted HRC style airbox , Silicone rad hoses .
Washed bike for first time since trip to Scotland in late October - its not perfect but better - just need to lube chain once its fully dry. The strip down WILL start in next 4 weeks (I hope...)
Finished off putting my side fairing back on after fitting rad guard and downpipe grill. The fairing on the 2012 blade is a pain to get on and off, I dont think I will be taking it off again in a hurry.
Got OH to make me up a new bush for the gearchange lever which was worn and wobbling around, oh yes and rode the bike
stripped down rear end took rear wheel off cleaned , cleaned sprocket and made all nuts and bolts clean and tidy again like this
Did you check the bearing? And the shaft it sits on? The shaft was fuct on mine. Look at getting a Gilles shift support for smother gear changes and less false nuetrals. I got one and it made a huge differance!
looked at it in garage when foraging for hidden boxes of crisps and haribo sweets (any variety) all i,ve done since august is look at it on a few occasions. cant even push it onto drive rto start it as rain never stopping. plus flat rear tyre.f****n hate winter!!! yes i know! i,m scottish so should be used to it.
