Took the Blade out for a cheeky blast to see the flooding in Bridgnorth then went to Bewdley. Roads where mostly dry, sun was out and it was quite warm for December. What a treat, I can now deal with christmas with a smile on my face. Roll on the new year. Happy Christmas.

Took mine out for the first time in 3 weeks. A quick blast, but so great to be back out on the bike. New Athos jacket plus an EDZ windproof top underneath worked will as did my new revit winter gloves, bulky but warm.

Woke up late, sat round in my pants watching Attenborough - 60 years in the wild (legend) now being summoned to sort out the small spare room / office / dumping ground...

12 months of swerving now expired!! Bollox... :(

Shipmate, if it's been windy and you have safe access to your roof it may be worth having a look. It could well be a section of lead flashing that's blown up in the wind. If so you'll be able to push it back down and avoid the hassle/expense of getting a roofer.

thanks for the tip ll. its been windy as hell here lately and endless rain. some of the timbers are a bit damp so it might have been coming in for a while. the chimney in question is shared with the neighbour (who,s been in hospital for months as in her 90,s ) so cant look in the loft from her side and her house belongs to the local council so will ring them and see if they will put it right or split the repair costs with me. the leadwork looks ok from the ground but the rendering looks iffy.

Rocket, I noticed the top couple of inches of cement off the chimney breast inside the loft were wet a few days ago and had a moment of panic. When I checked, the wind is pushing the rain that's running down the flashing back underneath it. Once the wind dropped it stopped.

thanks ken i,ll keep an eye on it. i only go in loft 2/3 times a year so could have been going on a while. we are situated where the wind gives us a battering. its been constant rain for weeks/months as you,ll know so its probably as bad as it will get and hopefully the next week or so it might dry out and i can check if it do,s it when just raining with no wind. :(

The roads were a bit patchy today but the sun was out today so I got out early and had a good 100ish mile ride out. Stansted, Finchingfield (not much about today there are nearly always a few nice cars and bikes parked up here) then up to Bury St Edmunds & Mildenhall Tea & cake with me Mum & Dad then back again.
I cant think of a better way of celebrating in the new year!
I need to book my first service, then get the new exhaust fitted. Oh and give it a good clean now too..
    Happy new year all.
