Haha!! I just got a couple of the "Remove before flight" ones, mate. The reason I wanted one if because I keep leaving the key in the seat cowl lock. Indeed I did it again whilst washing the bike and saw the keyring flapping about in the wind as I was walking away from it so it served its purpose Today I have sourced a £100 vernier caliper from work (we have loads of the things lying around and the quality manager gave me one of the old ones) so that I can now very accurately align my rear wheel And I've ordered a 16GB Google Nexus 4.
You have 2 uses for it as it's also very useful for measuring the distance between the plates when you're fitting a new chain
What kind of vernier caliber are you using that it cost £100 mate. Even a Mititoyo doesn't cost me that much. Oouch!!
Had to go into the office today to meet an engineer. Took the bike. Got to the end of the drive when the snow started. Thought 'buggrit! If I change out of my leathers now I'll miss the geezer' so ploughed on. In the end it just stayed as spots on my visor. Picked up a police car just outside the village that was, obviously, just going off shift, who followed me all the way to the office, which is only a couple off hundred yards from the main city police station. So I had an opportunity to demonstrate the skilful art of riding 18" from the kerb, 2 miles below the speed limit, while giving due consideration to other road users, including cyclists and smiling at old ladies. I think he was impressed. I must say the ride was bracing.
Might have thought you where a redneck coming in from Cornwall ? And now for 3 hours washing the damn thing!
It's alright mate the roads have been dry here for over a week. No damp, no salt. All I've got to worry about is the dust that settled on it by riding in so slowly. With luck, I'll be able to blow all that off on the ride home. The Cornish all get their hands stamped at the Tamar bridge so they can count them all out again at sunset.
I've been summoned to my sister's house for a birthday party tonight so I will be keeping away from radios, telly's and gobshites until I can get home.
Dropped wheels, new bearings and 90 deg tyre valves off at the powder coaters this morning, and tomorrow I'll be dropping off my seat to get covered.
Won't say a thing!! How's this for a bit of pre match hospitality. Suppliers one of my subcontractors I use... Opposit the stadium. Beers, canapés & 3 course meal (hog roast) lol
