Gutted for you mate, perhaps there was something on the road as Jimbo really rates the grip on these tyres. As firebloke says, the mileage out of them isn't rated as much, well at least based on 1200 miles from a brand new rear.
Really sorry to here this fella.... As Steve and dave said, grip is awesome (but not exceptional) but wear rate pants!! Maybe something on the road or just bad luck on new tyres... Not the first or last so don't beat yourself up dude, like you say, could have been worse and hopefully get the bike sorted. Would be worried about that tyre getting you to Le Mans and back though. My advice is get them swapped for the trip and hang them up for later in the summer sticky ride outs
This week Ive been blasting round on bikes fitted with PR3s you know they are TRULY an AWSOME tyre! SOOOOOO much feel and grip from them Id be hard pushed to name a better tyre, full lean in the damp with same level of grip as any other tyre in the dry! They are so good they have me questioning what's the point of the like of say a supercorsa BSB? Shame they look crap... I see a few people starting to run Supercorsa SCs street legal track tyres that should be used with warmers....good luck I say.. I do love slick looking tyres! I won't start the tyre debate but I still love my Pures on my blade and supercorsa BSB on my Ducati.
Fitted the pr3s as a replacement to the s20s after seeing dave v grind his pegs on track and hardly wear them out and andy cane it in the wet in Scotland. Both hardly warm out at all Was very impressed tbh - but do look proper pony!
The Barron got 7500 miles from his rear! WTF is that about, 1500-2000 from a BSB rear, his front didn't even look too bad!
I could well believe it, shipmate. Mine's done at least that (it's finished now) but 3000 miles of it was motorway London to Almeria. Squared off? Oh yes.
Entered all this on the satnav for the Barcelona MotoGP trip which is now only 4 weeks away Around about 950miles each way & we get to cross this: Tallest Bridge in the World on the trip too
Thanks Jimbo I got 1,800 out of my last rear and the original front seems fine. I reckon about 900 round trip so reckon I should be ok May look another combo later in the summer, any recommendations? Had another look at the road today where it went down and seems ok, altho a couple of grids there. Looks like the bike will be ready to go tomorrow so all is good lets hope for some decent weather
Slipped off and landed on a scaffold bar across my chest. Didn't fall that far but that bar bloody well hurt!
Glad to hear you ok mate. As far as falls go, you can count that a lucky escape!! Ps if it makes you feel any better - I popped (literally) my hamstring tues!! Wasn't the most pleasant of experiences ha ha
An expensive way to square off a tyre though mate. After seeing recent performance on the pr3 on road and track I went for them!! More than enough for me on the road.. Keep the racetec's for the track bike lol
Just back from a wee run to the Green Welly via Inverary and back round Loch Lomond side. Bloody knackered. So many sheep on the loose too.
After not really feeling in the mood today decided to man up and meet some mates for a ride, decided to take the wife's Duke. Was cool seeing the lads but didn't prepare, summer gloves, tinted visor, only a tshirt and pants under my leathers on a cold dark night was never going to be fun. Only touch was getting pulled for speeding in a 30 and getting let off.
