A walk along the beach this morning, cold but sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Followed by 9 course lunch, each course with a different glass of selected wine that the sadistic wine waiter kept topping up. Waddled back to our room and as I can't understand a word of French telly a well deserved nap is on the cards. Maybe a wander into the town this evening as the bars are open for a couple of swift ones.
glorious walk with the dog in warm unbroken sunshine this morning, round my brothers for an absolutely humungous Dinner, waddled home, now chilling with a Cidre watching Top Gear discovering the source of the Nile, then I may start on my Game of Thrones box set
Helped serve beer at the folks completely jam packed boozer for 2 hours between 12-2.... Helped cool dinner then had the pub to ourselves since then. And very nice it has been too.
Washed the belly pans off the 'Blade in the bath/shower, discovered that chain lube/grease is a bugger to get off the white plastic shower head even with engine degreaser !!!
Great few days- yesterday was at the father in laws, he's mate Harry popped in. Then today back to reality clearing the 40 odd foot tree that come down Christmas Eve- proper man stuff. Jimbo thought I went a bit mad with the chain saw So climbing and cutting stuff with saws- awesome! Thanks Jimbo, really appreciate all your help. Ha, those wet suits are tricky
Drove back from Le Touquet today with the arse end of my car dragging under the weight of reasonably priced wine and washing powder via a short skirmish over the border into Belgium (cigarettes are much cheaper) in torrential rain, it never stopped until we headed up the M20 through water world, formally known as Kent. You, know what, I could drive half way across Europe in the time it takes to get from the Euro Tunnel back to the Fens. Lane discipline, pointedly VOSA (or should I now say DVSA) and their stupid elf and safety coning off, and the general fcuking idiots on the road in this country is noticeably so poor when compared to driving in Europe (Rome, Paris and Madrid excluded). Of course we drank and ate far too much, last night’s heart burn being the first sign; the credit card bill when it drops on the mat will be the second. But, we only live once and we had a good time. You can never have too many towels: Never see this in the Fens: Or this on Christmas morning: Never get tired of sea food, even on boxing day:
God what an awful day for me today, both my daughters are back home (which is nice) and my wife birthday (which is also nice), however I got talked into a day at Nottingham clothes shopping my god didn't think it was ever going to end... Glad to be back home with my sanity just about intact Roll on the spring
Ah see the trick to that is get the latest edition of "performance Bikes" (other bike mags are available!) and find yourself a nice seat to sit on then tell the wife/kids/GF to meet you back here when there finished! Jobs a good un!
Well as the weather was nice, I pulled the old girl out and had a ride for an hour.Roads were salt free and mostly dry.Not been out on her for 3 whole months.Put my old leathers on to keep me warm. Wife bought me a Midland xtc280 camera so I wanted to try that out.Stuck a spare micro card in it and off I went.I used a suction cup normally for windscreens and it was a little jolty. The stick on base is what I will do next.May venture out tomorrow if its still dryish.Footage to follow.
