Helicopter pilot for the offshore oil and gas sector. Currently in Turkmenistan flying the Caspian Sea.
I tried applying for the pilot thing myself a few years ago for the Army but fell just a little short of the high standards they impose. I have a few mates that now fly for a living, unfortunately I'm not one of them.
I'm still trying to work out what I do...... I do run two coal fires in winter so I have probably bought Mrs Shanes the odd pair of shoes; or maybe a small conribution to the "other pair" (do you see what I did there). Everything considered, I want Mikes job
You guys all have really exciting jobs. I'm lucky enough to fund my bike habit by working in IT (for a bank). Been all over the world - Mexico, Brazil, US, Canada, HK, France, India, Switzerland and even Sheffield !!! It is interesting comparing driving standards across the world - IMHO the French are the best, then UK and India is last by a looooooong way. That said the one place I really want to ride a bike is India - go figure..
