I would say, If you travel year round the Michelin or Metz M7 ....... Dry occasional wet, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa. Good Luck,Mike.
Pilot Power 2CT. I know there's newer stuff on the market but they work fine for me and they're pretty cheap too.
Cheers fellas! Choosing tyres is a nightmare! Gonna look at the Pirelli Corsa and the pilot3/4's. All my riding is dry riding but occasionally we get caught out! My Bridgestone didn't seem that bad until it turned cold with a light shower, then it felt awful.
I'm using Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's. Very good tyre I think. I've used Bridgestone Batlax tyres and found they were very slow in warming up, but the MPP's are very good. Dual Compound and last for some good miles. They don't square off that easily either due to the harder centre if your on the boring commute to work everyday. And on the spirited back road ride, they grip really well.
Just done a track day at brands on the original s20's, they worked fine once I let them down to 30 psi hot (both ends) I have a set of D211gp's to go on, 55 profile rear, will report back
Have had pilot 2CT's on my last 2 bikes and the blade has 2CT pure's on it at the moment which will eventually change to 2ct's when they need changing, the grip level is excellent, they wear really well and on an aesthetic view the tread pattern is sportier looking than most tyres and suit the big superbikes, im not a fan of tyres with loads of tread cut into them, think it spoils the look of the bike, and as tge 2CT's have worked so well for me in the past, these are my tyre of choice.
Recently changed from stock Dunlop qualifiers to Metzeler M7RR - much, much better, more confidence inspiring & quicker turn-in. love 'um. Has been the best thing i have done to the bike.
Bridgestone S20 Evos are fine as far as I am concerned. Great grip in the wet and the dry. Although personally I run mine below the recommended pressure. Found 36F and 42R way too hard. Run 32F and 36R plus has suspension set up done as the factory settings are too soft. Also did track CSS day at Silverstone in very wet conditions and they were great
Not that weird, I am another that does not like Michelin's, especially after they are worn, but still look like they have tread left - they do last well though. Currently on my second set of S20 front. BT023 rear, which seem to last over 5k and work for me. Ultimately it depends on the miles you do, the type of riding and your personal preference - and what your local favoured supplier can get them for, the Ron Haslem school use T30's,and before that 023's, so good enough for me ;-)
