First bike I ever owned was a puch fifty in 76 . first bike on the road - the one and only fizzy! Yellow and black checkers great ped.
First bike I rode was my dad's Honda CD175, nicked off on it while he was out at work. Got about 2 miles up a back road and pulled the front brake mid corner. Arse over tit and all it needed was the footpeg straightening with a lump hammer........they don't build them like they used too
First bike I ever rode was my dads mates XL500. Was in a field and he agreed to let me have a go since I knew what all the levers and pedals were for, and also understood 1 down, 5 up. I was about 12 yrs old. What I didnt really understand was how NOT to give it a handful before dumping the clutch. (sorry bob..lol). After that, about 14yr old, had a go on a mates brothers CB400N. Scared the shit outta me!!! Lol. Then another mates brother had a C90, I fell off going for knee down! Lol. Years later got my first 'legal' bike, TS50ER, big bore kit, stan stephens spannies et.
First bike I ever rode was my uncles Lambretta SX200. I was a bout 12. Took it off road with him on the back shitting himself. Learnt clutch control, pillion riding and scrambling in one hit. I did repay the compliment many years later when I had the flu, was flat out and needed someone to take my 550 up to my garage block and he volunteered. An hour and a bloody half he was gone.
Yeah, bless him. He's gone now but he was the geezer who sparked my interest in things mechanical more than anyone else. That bloody Lambretta was in bits more than it wasn't. Before he rode scooters he was of the Bantam, Francis Barnett school of bikers, so suddenly he had a 550 four to play with so he was off like a rat up an aquaduct. If he was still around, god knows what he'd think of my 'Blade.
Pillioned when I was young but didn't take much notice of it then, Harris rang a bell. First bike I rode by myself was my little kawasaki kh100 Xx
A puch moped around my folks garden when I was about 12/13, a few crashes involving apple trees and hedges but got me hooked!
Peewee 50 8 yo crashed into a fence trying to do a jump ! Had splinters for weeks but loved it soooooooo much never looked back
1980 Yamaha XT250 around a campsite in Woolacombe, aged 24...... a VERY late starter. I had been asking for a go for a few days... then my mate was pissed, and thought I was sober... in truth, I was just a bit less pissed than him! Loved it... bought an XT125 when we got back home, and booked my CBT... havent looked back since.
The first motorized bike/ trike was when we lived on the farm when i was 10 (1980), Honda ATC200. Flipped this bad boy on top of me with a tool box on the front and a tractor front wheel on the back. Then my first road bike was a Honda NF75 about 1986 (16) but in RED.
First ride was a suzuki gp100.A mate said if i can get that going properly then it was time for a bike for myself.Ap50 then fs1e.Fastest fs1e in medway 85mph with a yb100 engine.Nearly lost my right hand racing a stan stephens rd80lc with it.It looked like a mini cafe racer.
A Lambretta SX 150, my 16th. birthday present. Taught me clutch and throttle control, mechanics, crashing and rebuilding.
