poor distance for me against some of you guys. sold my brother my gsx1400 last easter and as we were going on holiday for few days in poole said i,d drive it to him from falmouth to southampton about 235 miles. bike was effortless and only got numb bum about last 10 miles. had the wife and kids following in car so couldnt shoot ahead too far. cracking trip though. planning it again this year on the blade leaving here about dinnertime on a tuesday stop off at poole bike night then upto soton for nights stay. (summer depending of course lol)!
Just a tad under 600 miles from France to my door here in Belfast and about 250 the day befor from the 'Ring to Calais, not including the many other 1000's of miles we'd covered in the week away we had. All done on my K5 750, best biking week ever (or maybe that was the week in the Pyrennes, I'm not sure)
Done several 5 - 600mile jaunts in a day when I was younger I hasten to add. Still manage 350 - 400 on my busa regularly per day whilst touring, bought an official Suzuki gel seat and it makes a difference!. Furthest on blade 220 - 250 with no great issues.
Rode the blade to Paris last year for a stag do - getting there was not so bad.... coming back after 2 days on the source was not my proudest moment.
from fareham to liverpooln about 250 miles, my ass was killing me by the time we got there, then we rode all the way back the day after!! must have been mad - but then that was before the youngest two came along. xx
I bought one of those "Strap on" gel pad seat covers. There are covered with a wet suit material and look quite good with about 25mm of gel. TBH they made no difference to the numb bum limit. OK, cue the Strap On jokes!
Thought i went a long way years ago when i went to Newquay Cornwall years ago on a CX500, but its nowt compared to you lot!!
About 550 miles in one hit after a week of touring scotland and on a hangover. Fort William to Bournemouth. Put me off long straight roads for life! Bloody Motorways felt like they would never end lol.
Even with leg/hip op's and issues my ass was the only thing after 250-300 miles that does hurt not my legs. Even with the E seat my ass hurt like hell after a few days of 250-450 miles a day
When we did the trip to Morocco (where we did the 660 in one day) we eventually did 3330 miles in total in 11 days, so thats about 300 per day , on average. It was great, although i didnt want to sit on a bike for a couple of weeks after i got back.
About 750 in one day on a 600rr up to john o'groats and back in one day on the long route And did over to Ireland in the pissing rain fully loaded on the blade at a week old Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
