Well, first ride of the year this evening and ended up in Southport. Was the only bike there for a good while and the cafes were all shut. Managed to get a brew and coffee for my pillion from the chippy. Good news everything was all as it should be after all the home service work. Bad news the damage to my seat I had repaired has not faired well. It was caused by my pillions Sidi’s and has already taken its toll on the replaced corners. Will just have to put some gorilla tape or such over those areas of the seat to resist the abuse and accept the cheeks will need replacing again at some point in the future.
@Boothman , Ron maybe it's the tiny pigeon sat on your seat that's doing the damage while you were in the chippy
Conditions where perfect this evening so went for a decent ride out through the back roads of Lancashire and Cheshire. Didn’t want to go home but useful daylight was up after we’d been out for 4 hours (stopped a couple of times for a drink and chat in that)
Went to the East Kirkby Bike night, It was heaving, one Marshall reckoned over 2000 bikes, we had the Lancaster taxing around, full access to the museum which has DeHavilland Mosquito, only £5 per bike great night
Always fancied the East Kirby bike night. Sadly being mid-week, the distance makes it unfeasible. Often wondered how they get the Lanc out taxiing when they’re in the midst of restoring it to flight!
I guess it's good to give it a run now and again, plus they make lots of money from these events, they do Lancaster and mosquito days, you can pay for a taxi around in them, hopefully flying one day, I would pay for that trip
