He just can't help himself...... Sees something that resembles a public toilet and does a big stoppie and hangs around outside........ Pretending to be waiting while the rain stops. In fact that's his chat up line :D

Finally got out for a bimble over the Wolds, but because it was Wednesday evening the Scamera vans were out as well as plenty of marked cars and bikes. Fortunately got out just after 3pm so managed to get some nice riding in before the traffic built up too much.

A bimble over the Wolds, that’s fu*ked Google maps, try as they could, turned up nowhere, same on Apple maps, completely goosed.

All these other places listed up here I am able to find where you lot are riding, but A bimble over the Wolds, that’s finally stumped me atlas. :(

@Kentblade Bimble is to go wander aimlessly in a relaxed manner.

Don't know the origin, is just a phrase from my old squaddie days so could be from anywhere in the Country, or indeed even the old Empire as some words/phrases from then still existed i.e. Doolally and Dhobi.

I remember as a kid my parents shouting at us....Stop bimbling along....when you were on the enforced family Sunday walk  it was commonly used in our part of Derbyshire but my dad had been in the forces as well but maybe a localised word too being as it's unfamiliar to @Kentblade

Got it thanks, my Dad was a Navy man, used to shout dive a lot when his Gooners played the Hotspuds which was strange as he was never on subs, just surface ships o_O

Not today. Today was spent standing in the rain thinking what tomorrow might bring.
My last day off(last friday) though I had a nice ride down the Leadhills. ::)

Was a blast from the past - somewhere I used to consider an adventure on the 100(and 250) but lately have been just blasting past the junctions on the 7076. (Which is pretty entertaining in it's own right :D ).
So this time I headed south then pulled off at the quick bit before Abington.

    Took the Crawfordjohn road...

    ...then the Leadhills road...

    ...then the Glenochar road.

...then north and inland again to Muirkirk and the home stretch.

    Was great.
    Isn't it always? :)

Woke up thinking about the Loch Awe road. Wasn't until I was going along the side of the airport thet the VMS reminded me that the rest and be thankful was closed.
...so the Loch Awe road would be chock-a-block.

Plan B was made up while rolling through Gourock thinking "gotta get off the coast road".
Rolled on round to Greenock then took the high road down to Largs. A wee single-tracker where road condition round the next corner was anybody's guess.

Pootled through Largs then immediately headed inland and just messed around taking random turnoffs whenever I met traffic.

Ended up in Stewarton so finished on a favourite road home. :)

Finally picked mine up from the garage this morning and headed off up to Devils Bridge. From there I went to Kendal and then took the A6 over Shap, up to Penrith. Then I turned around and did it again. Circa 150 miles in total.

A6 over Shap is highly recommended. Reminds me of the mountain road on the IOM in places. It’s a very fast stretch of road, much quieter than most of the lakes and the views are pretty decent.

Little jaunt round Galloway. Went in at New Cumnock and then Dalry>Newton Stewart>Pinmore then over the hills on single trackers to Dailly.
Unfortunately the Straiton road was closed so dropped down to Maybole and came home up the A77.

Some nice roads. Highlight was Newton Stewart to Girvan - that stretch was a lot of fun.:)
