I know mate I had the same thoughts until he started playing ......I've never played rather get the bike out!!
Exactly mate , I’ll sum it up We only have x amount of spare time in our lives to get to do what things we like to do , so with that time u have to prioritise which u enjoy most . And those are at the top of the list . Nearer the bottom are other things , which we would like to do . But ran out of said time . I found golf was like a 5 hr job all in . Could go to gym and mountain biking etc in that 5 hrs , and a couple of beers ....
True my old man worked at Fords back in the day couldn't afford to go near a golf course....his moped he used for work proved to be much more fun while he was alseep on nights shift ..,.
I "played" golf once ! Mates were doing a round so went down to walk round with them (in motorcycle boots !) - quite social walking around chatting, having a laugh. Gave me a club and said have a go - first ever shot - almighty smack and the ball disappeared like a rocket out of sight - straight as an arrow over the trees - never saw it again They were laughing - James was filming it on his phone - really funny
Golf is great.......used to play regularly a few years ago at my local club but also on our annual trip to Marbella!! Loved it and great laugh with the lads...... Will definitely get bavk into it one day!! Here's a few action shots
Proper action shots - done properly !! I am not into golf at all - but it was fun with a few mates walking around in the sunshine having a laugh. I didn't realise there was that sociable side to it. Really enjoyed that.
Let me think, track day or golf, ermmm, its close call...ermm, No track days win until I am to old to handle the machine then might take up golf
That's really all it was about for me Mattie, most of my mates were all into it so I gave it a go and ended being OK at it after a few years. The trips abroad ended up just being piss ups and we'd be playing half cut from the night before!! Many shit rounds played dotted with the odd miracle shot, but it's about the social side and having a good laugh with your mates....... Missing that at the moment!
Only got limited time mate, still working, my brother has retired and spends most of his time playing Golf or away on holiday, cant see the fascination myself, but each to their own... Also Prefer more "Adrenaline Rush" sports anyway, hitting a small ball then spending time looking for it, does not do it for me
Tell you what...... Stand on the first Tee with a load of people watching from the clubhouse pavilion and you'll be shaking like a shitting dog from adrenaline!! I agree with you though it is time consuming, probably why I don't play anymore. Don't get enough time for the bike never mind anything else!
Tell you what ,,,,,,,,, stand on a stage in front of 300 people at a wake and play rock n roll with the band That gets the adrenalin going WIERD
