Metzler M7 RR for me as well. I know they are not the latest tyres but I was impressed with how Michael Rutter did a lap of the TT on these tyres. Also not keen on the almost slick sports tyres that seem more track sporty than road sporty. Lots of good reviews from road riders so thought to give them a go. Plenty of grip for the road. The turn in seems very neutral - no sudden drop off as you turn in - very neutral it seems to me. No trouble holding a line round corners, or quickly standing it up if needs be. So far very pleased with them.
Have a look at metzler M5 now replaced by M7RR. What is interesting is that they use a single compound but the steel belt tension varies across the profile to give the rubber different stiffness and grip. They also cost less I believe M7RR to be slightly tallker and more V shaped than M5
Never tried the m7rr’s and I’m sure they are amazing tyres, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the Power RS. I’m on my second set.
Only if supplied and fitted by one of the dealers on the approved list. To qualify for the promotion a dealer had to commit in January to spending around £7k on Michelin tyres in the the forthcoming year. I found this out when my chosen dealer (RAD Motorcycles) wasn't on the list. He did give me half the cashback out of his own pocket though.
Bloody hell. What a vivid illustration of the necessity to read the 'fine print'. The problem with many promos now, is that any reference to Terms and Conditions is camouflaged by the main text or linked to an asterisk that is about the size of my paraplegic sperm! As one in the market soon, I'll certainly be aware of this ill-practice. This reminds me of a recent McDonald's promo leaflet delivered through my door. There is a local McDonald's only 3 miles from me. HOWEVER, the closest 'participating' Maccas was way up near Sheffield - some 2 hours away!
