The grips look hard but are comfy as fook with the rubber inserts they are almost gel like!!! I was bulking when I was that heavy col, I came down to 17 before my holiday but felt to skinny so went back up to 18!!!
I have SES rearsets fitted to my bike Colin and I'm very pleased with them and the service from SES is second to none. The other advantage of going SES IMO is the spares availability, when I dropped my bike they sold me a left foot plate and foot peg for approx £40 and I had it the next day, try that with Gilles and you could triple the price tag at least. As people have mentioned Gilles tend to flex alot and I have witnessed this myself, if you can find a bike with them fitted get hold of them and you can bend them just by pulling with your hand. I also heard horror stories if you crash with gilles fitted they bend inwards and damage the expensive swingarm, where as in my crash the SES ones were that rigid and strong, that in combination with the R&G crash bung they kept the majority of the bike off the ground and dramatically reduced the amount of damage to my bike. You can mix and match with SES too, you can go all black or all silver or any combination ie black with silver footpegs etc.... I m glad I bought SES and would happily recommend them, good kit, at a good price, with good spares availability and great service IMO. I know little of PP tuning or TRW but I do know some wsbk teams use them so must be pretty decent I would have thought. Hope the comments help.
Too skinny!!!!! The heaviest I've went up to was 16.5 stone and I really felt the weight on me. I found it kinda hard to breathe at that weight. Having said that I'm only 5'9". I'm going to have to order a set of those grips now mate. That and the fluid reservoirs, and bar ends. Gggrr. See wit you've started

I'm 6'3" Colin, I was 18st at 15 and 20.7 at 18, then I started liking women lost 6st in 4 months Thai boxed for 5 years then my mate dragged me down the gym, 6 years later I got a 32-33" waist a 54" chest, 30" thighs and a 2" penis lol I had to say that before someone else did lol
No problem Colin mate. The other thing to look at IMO is how the exhaust bracket is held by the rearset. Different manufacturers have different ways of achieiving this and as most are designed for fitment with the standard exhaust if you want to fit aftermarket rearsets with an aftermarket exhaust (As I did) it becomes more of an issue. The reason being is when fitting an Akrapoivc exhaust or Arrow exhaust you have to allow for 2 tapered spacers to clamp the exhaust bracket and this takes up about 15mm extra width and you have to be sure there is enough clearance between the rearset and the swingarm for this extra 15mm. I can confirm SES rearsets work with Arrow and I m 99% sure it will with the Akrapovic exhaust but as I have no experience of other designs I cannot comment.

Just found this image too which shows the 2 tapered spacers which clamp the exhaust bracket. Hopefully the picture explains why you need to provide the extra clearance better than my waffle above.
I orderd mine mid day and they came the next morning. They was missing 1 part of the set so they got the boys in the workshop to make one up for me in time to catch the last post .. Very impressed with that

If you have noticed that the heel guard on mine is a different shape to the black ones above then that is because they have altered the design . However , My left one ( gear side ) is the version 2 but they didnt have the right side ( Brake side ) in stock , only the version 1 right . I asked what the difference was and they said the version 2 has a built in heel guard the same as the left . I was to impatient for them to make one as he said it will take a week so i went for the version 1 with the holes to add your own heel guard and stuck my carbon one on So if you get a set now yours will both have integrated heel guards .. Happy days
I'm going to have a good looks at the SES rear sets at the show if they're there. Also quite fancy the Driven D-axis sets. Then again there's also the rizoma rear sets recommended by Ben. That and the fact I just ordered some of they're stuff may sway me towards then. Damn you Ben
