Giv - the R1 is so easy to ride quickly, it hides its speed like nothing else - 80 - 90 feels slow, 50 like you are barely moving It drinks fuel - given today was less than 7k all day and softest power mode it averaged 35mpg - Blade would have done c.50 It delivers its power in a linear form and spins up so fast its untrue - As I said to Andy you will need to try it in full power mode when its run in and let me know what you think. One area where it currently feels bad is the ride quality, it cannot soak up large bumps etc. like the blade and leave you jumping off the seat, maybe softening it down to absorb more will help. Handling is OK but tyres brand new which helps. It feels like a special bike, it really does
looks like a good time was had by all. I missed it this time, previous engagement. Hopefully next time. Won't bring the wife though she won't go on the back. Maybe she'll follow in car, take a helmet with her so she doesn't feel left out. And set the aircon to freezing.
You are becoming a Father Christmas biker Rush ie we only see you once a year .Why dont you get together with Rich and Fez and sort a route out around the Lakes that would be good .
That would be too much like being organised. I tend not to set dates etc as I don't do rain etc as I don't have any water proofs and don't really intend buying any. I hate to ride in the rain and get my beloved fireblade wet and dirty. HO HO HO
There will be a few Spur of the moment mid week evening ride outs rushforthk once the lighter evenings start to arrive. Time permitting they usually enter or at least get close to your area at some point. Always keep an eye to the ride outs section, we tend to avoid Wednesday's though, as every town seems to have a meet, which in turn brings unwanted attention to the roads.
I didn't wash the bike from yesterday…. couldn't be arsed as i was too cold…brrrrrr. So tomorrow, as i'm off all this week (apart from Sat), i'm going to strip her down and clean her like she's never been cleaned before. I bought a Halfords rotary polisher from ebay, and i'm gonna go to town on her and give her a service while i'm at it, and book it in for a new rear as it's absolutely shagged. I also found out why the front was sliding yesterday… 19psi in it. What a tool.
Gutted I missed this must try harder to stay on the forum! I'm having my second service done on the 9th March so I'm good to go for summer!
