Funny thing is the carbon matrix CMC's are no longer made, they are looking at another material for them so manufacturing is on hold but there is another company making a similar disc in Europe but they are more like £3,500.00! Hows that saying......you get what you pay for....most of the time... CMC Disc Superlight!
Sexy but with the discs u need the pads/calipers/MC and everything else to make them worth while, and how long do they last!
They last a long time but yes they need special pads and they are around £150-200 a pair (both sides) they work like any other disc wet/cold/dry I know people that get 2-3000miles from pads road use they are waisted on the road imo and you never see them on track maybe its the price?? And like you say would you put stock calipers etc on them... If you can afford 2k disks you may as well have 2k calipers too...lol
How much do you know about these WRP discs jonny, as i am going to buy a set of brake lines from you (should be able to pay you tomorrow if i can escape from work for an hour) how much better will these discs be over the standard ones and would it still be best to use the standard honda brake pads or should i upgrade them, i dont track my bike just fast road riding. just didnt want to buy the discs to find out they were no better
If its just road riding stick to honda discs and pads mate. The others are just bling for road riding.
We all know the oem brakes work, but if you ride a Ducati for example or my Honda with full gp4rx calipers and discs you would agree the Honda brakes are more than shite, even for road use...lol
But then I ride a crappy cx500 in the winter and for commuting, Then get on the blade and your doing stoppies for the first mile lol.
Its fun to ride lol, You need to keep your corner speed up as it has feck all acceleration out the bends having only 50hp lol
