Yeah 50 cal all day long.... Yes mate it compresses the springs by placing the fork on the pin at the bottom then screwing the two locking pins into the upper spacer and wind down the spring, then you can replace the damper rod and top caps with ease then unload the spring... Like this... But mines man size Rebuild Front Shock GSXR1000 K3 (Mod to GSXR750) (Part 5)with BELRAY fork oil(www.teamhklracing) - YouTube
Jeez Arthur, we are too much alike. I've got the drawings here to make that. It's next on my hit list
Yours will be better mate, mines just made from old scrap had to make the inner box as none the right size so made it from two bits of angle also only fine imp threaded bar so took ages to find a nut for the inner winding, two more nuts and roll pins sorted the upper so can be wound up and down, then I wanted to be able to remove the lower pin to take a flat plate for Ohlins forks with NO lower pin hole as most cart forks dont have them (access for the damper assy bolt on most), and I can mod it later for rear shock springs hence why its heavy duty! I would love to see what you come up with I was most happy with my mount to remove it from my suss bench so it can be taken to my main workshop and held in a vice....lol (my workshop is in a couple of sheds and buildings)
I'm hoping there will be some box section at the right sizes in work. I know there's plenty M12 screwed rod and nuts. I just need to blag some bearings from the maintenance boys and I should be ready to start as soon as I find some time. As you said it's kinda dangerous trying to do it without the right tools.
