I hate the look of the breadbin under the bike but not keen on making too much more noise - they do not like it round here - it is just the way it is - glares - noisy motorbikes ! it is just the way it is here. ( I have actually been to court for a noisy exhaust !) Can it be painted black with any kind of spacial paint ? at least that might help to hide it The end can helps a little tiny bit..... Looking at the 2020 R1 - I bought mine now as I thought the new version would likely have to be Euro 5, so bought the last of the Euro 4. I can't think that Euro 5 is going to make anything better. Sounds ok, and a few pops and bangs on the overrun !
Not sure if paint would do it, maybe that VHT1 heat resistant stuff or go the whole hog and get it ceramic coated for a couple hundred quid. Look for camcoat or Zircotec (Avia speedshop in South Wales do the latter)
I just went for the decat, sounds better and amazing how much weight you save 5.2kgs less with cat gone, which equals an extra 26bhp on power to weight ratio
Must admit I am swaying towards the new R1M.....problem is need a test ride on one...none available yet and maybe never as ltd run of them ....
@Wozza The R1 M will likely sell out quite quickly. You might just have to make your choice fairly soon, yes or no. Personally the price would be a bit of a worry - a lot of money - but whether the bike is going to be "any good" is not a worry - that is the easy bit ! Anyway, at the caff today - mine next to another stocker ...
That's a point I will get a ride booked in on the stock one then if I like that then it will make up my mind had a go on the lastest BMW ....don't believe the hype,,,,
Apart from the R1 why don't we have roads like that, I did not see him dodging potholes and jumping over crap repairs
I think with a clear one on matte black, it would show as a glossy finish as they are glossy clear. I'd go for a Matte Black tankpad when I come to replace mine.
Good point Stuish. Think I'll keep it all matte. Do you know any good makes. I see that some are really cheap but are they crap?
I made the mistake of buying crap. They lift easily, even with proper preparation. Go for brand name!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice matt black tank pad. Googled for ages and can't seem to find a nice matt one. Needs to go on my new matt black blade.
I think the closest you might get with a good genuine brand is a carbon look one like this maybe. I've had the genuine Honda ones on and they're spot on https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CA...BR600RR-CBR1000RR-VTR1000SP-1-2-/253177830347
