And to tell you the truth about it I have never used one before but have been looking at a good quality tool and why i went for that one

So hoping it should do what I want when it's required

Just bought a Tsubaki gold chain, it comes with a solid master link, not a soft link like DIDs. I've got a DID type breaker/riveter that I've been told will not be able to rivet solid links. Anyways spent lots of dosh on parts and tools I cant justify ( to the wife!) to spend £100+ on another tool!. I think I will rivet my chain old school with a centre punch and hammer and buy one for next time.

The ironic thing is that my local honda dealer will fit sprockets and chain for £60 (if I supply all the parts, didn't know they would fit non OEM bits) I've spent that on tools already just for this job!.

Buy a soft link for it then. That's what I did for the chain on my SP1 and used the (cheaper) rivet tool. Costs £6 ish

Ill get you the link (no pun intended).

Thanks mate, think I've been told porkies by BandCExpress, they said you should only use Tsubaki links on Tsubaki chains due to tolerance etc. I'll check my link with a vernier to check if these are the same.
I've had bling sitting in my kitchen for a while now and just frothing at the gash to fit. Only thing is stopping me is the tonne of salt on the road and I've got some warranty work due on my bike next week so don't want the bling (non OEM parts fitting by me) on show to the big H.

well i wouldn't say porkies as such, you know the old say,"a chains only as strong as it's weakest link",so fitting an inferior link to your chain is just silly.

however, you can buy soft links for Tsubaki chains just as easy as any other, have a look on ebay.

can't afford to buy another riveter to deal will solid links, so made my own rivet anvil, took best part of 5 mins to 'fabricate'.
smack the rivet with this and a hammer, turn 90 degrees bash again for that factory quad stake finish

    bish bash bosh!

I bought a cheap drawer unit from Halfrauds a few years ago for £60. Not good quality and drawers a bit loose, but it means all my tools are in one place and I can put top part in the car for mobile mechanicing duties. I'm sure there will be some better quality ones for sale soon.
