My battery would make charge if I had it on an optimiser but it wouldn't hold charge for more than 3-4 days because unknowingly the stator was burnt out. 9 times out of 10 when you burn a cell on the stator it will blow the rectifier aswel unfortunately. It's best to replace both. My bike is 2009 with 13,000 on the clock. I'd get them to test the rectifier and check out the stator just incase. I thought the battery was nakered but it would hold 12v when RAC charged it but....the bike would use that to run it and not recharge. Literally everything started flickering on my dash and then the bike started to feel groggy....then cut out and wouldn't start.
I feel your pain, mines been off the road 3 weeks now from messing around with different stators. Your bike is newer so maybe easier to acquire parts
I know it’s a different year but have you checked out a Puig screen? I love mine. Keeps the wind just high enough and looks quite subtle. Check my pics.
The kill switch can cause starting issues if the internal contacts are corroded. If the battery is > 2 years old have it discharge checked.
